Scholarship results are in!
The PMSA Charitable Board received 29 applications and 17 PMSA member's children were selected for scholarship awards!
If you didn't already realize, there are some amazing and talented children of PMSA Members! To read these accomplishments and papers on how they have shown leadership, was both rewarding and humbling. The announcements have been sent to all the applicants on if they were chosen to recieve one of the 17 awards, or did not make the top 17. This year, we have invited the 17 winners to an awards ceremony and luncheon on June 30th. At this ceremony, it will be revealed who won the top awards, and checks will be presented. The ceremony will be dedicated to Sergeant Henry Prendes.
Scholarship awards to be awarded:
- One (1) $5,000 scholarship
- Six (6) at $2,500 scholarships each
- Ten (10) at $1,000 scholarships each
Please note, that all winners were selected through a blind selection process. The applications and associated papers had personal information redacted, and were distributed by email to the board members to read and rank. Those ranks were tabulated and resulted in our 17 winners. It was very difficult to rank as all the applicants did very well, and they should all be proud of their accomplishments.
The PMSA Charitable Foundation has awarded $104,000 in scholarships to students of active and retired PMSA members in good standing. The awards are attributed to the success of our Annual Cops 4 Kids Golf Tournament and donations made to our Foundation. Thank you to everyone who has contributed!
